Ants are pesky pests that always seem to find their way indoors. To prevent ants from being attracted to your home, basic housekeeping goes a long way. Don’t leave food on the floor after meals. Clean up your dishes after you eat instead of leaving them in the sink. Keep food locked in air-tight containers and stored up high where it will be difficult for ants to reach. Take out the trash frequently. Don’t allow water to accumulate on counters and in sinks.

The best approach to get rid of ants is to first find out where their nest is. You can leave a small pile of table sugar where they will find it and watch the ants to see where they take it. Once you have located the nest, you can spray it with boric acid powder, which will kill all the ants in the nest.
